Ford EcoBlue diesel engines use a fuel vapouriser in their exhaust system just upstream of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) which is there to improve the DPF regeneration process. We started to receive reports that these vaporiser units can get blocked, causing regeneration failures and DPF issues. This prompted Laser tools to design the now well-established DPF Fuel Vaporiser Spanner, Part No. 8100, that makes removal of the vaporiser a much simpler affair. Thanks to feedback from our customers we have also discovered that removal of the vapouriser often results in thread damage so we have also introduced this thread chaser specifically for the exhaust vapouriser used by Ford.
Designed to clean and reform M20 x 1.5 threads found on exhaust system fuel vapouriser ports.
The short lead-in on the thread chaser ensures the thread is cut as close as possible to the internal seat of the exhaust.
For use on any M20 x 1.5mm thread.
Use with 21mm sockets or spanners. Total length: 50mm.
Use with axle grease for clean threads and to catch any removed metal in the flutes.
